Voices from Fukushima – Remembering, Understanding and Shaping the Future

In this special lecture and exchange format, students from Fukushima share their personal experiences, their lives today and their perspectives for the future.

Accompanied by the organisation Earth Walkers, which has been enabling encounter and exchange programmes for young people from Fukushima for many years, participants will gain a direct insight into the consequences of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. At the same time, the talk will also focus on reconstruction, everyday life for young people in the region, and their thoughts on the environment, energy, peace and international understanding.

The students will speak in Japanese or English. Translation support will be provided on site.

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for conversation and personal exchange with the students and their accompanying representatives.
