How does dubbing actually work, and what does it take for a voice to merge convincingly with a character? In this taster course, Sven Plate offers a lively introduction to working in a dubbing studio.

Participants learn how dialogue is recorded, why timing, emphasis, breathing and emotion are so important, and how to approach a character. The central question is: how can you enter a role, understand its mood and give it personality and expression through your own voice?

The course is not limited to theory. Under expert guidance, participants can try out initial scenes and gain their own experience in front of the microphone. No previous experience is required, only curiosity, enthusiasm for acting and a desire to use your voice.
