In this creative workshop, Shigemi Muroi shows how Japanese newspapers can be turned into distinctive and practical bags. Through skilful folding, gluing and reinforcement, the printed pages are transformed step by step into unique pieces.

Japanese characters, photographs and typographic elements make every bag one of a kind. At the same time, the workshop demonstrates how everyday materials that might otherwise be discarded can be reused creatively.

No previous experience is required. Participants can of course take their finished newspaper bag home.
